Did he behead her???

At 3:25 AM, officers from the North Precinct were dispatched to a possible domestic violence incident at an apartment building in the 10500 block of Midvale Avenue North. Based on the information relayed to them from the SPD 911 Center and witnesses at the scene, the officers forced open the door of a third-floor apartment. As officers entered the apartment, they found a deceased woman inside. Two adults, a man and a woman, and two small children, a boy and a girl, were hiding in another room. Police then contacted a man armed with a large knife in a bedroom. Two officers engaged the suspect, ordering him to drop the knife. During the encounter the officers fired their service weapons, fatally striking the suspect. The officers were not injured.

Is Seattle a sanctuary city? Dude wasn’t speaking English. Cops did what had to be done. Gave him way to much time and let him pick up a knife. After dealing with the blog concerning lying murdering Houston pd, it’s nice to see body cam footage and to know those cops have nothing to be ashamed of. I’ve spent time in Seattle before they started to act like California. We the people would have a lot less problems if all cops had to have body cams and all footage open to public. Great job Seattle pd

This situation happened just off Aurora Avenue North, West of Northgate, in an area known for rampant/open prostitution and drug dealing. If something like this was going to happen in Seattle, it comes as no surprise that this would be the place.

Downtown is a mess. "Homeless" camps everywhere. I don't have to, so I just don't go there anymore. Afraid of stepping on needles and getting AIDS, TB or Dysentery......

Needles are everywhere in the city. Sanctuary state and sanctuary safe injection areas. This city/state has become a real mess

He was kind of far away and why didn't they pepper him or taze him?

seriously? here’s an idea killer.....next time some maniac cuts the head off someone, we send YOU into the tight space to confront him while he is still armed. you ask me, they waited way too long to shoot him. the second he even moved for the weapon i would have dusted his ass.

Even the notion of you monday morning quarterbacking this makes me think someone should pepper spray or taser YOU.

Several factors in play. Tight space that they were operating in with several obstacles between them and the suspect. One of them would have had to step on/over the door, around the body and assuming there was a large volume of blood on the floor (very slippery substance). Looked like a bad angle for one officer to cover his partner while approaching to cuff/subdue him. The guy was obviously under the influence, extremely agitated and with a decapitated body in front of you, you have to assume he's the one who did it, so armed and extremely dangerous. People under the effects of drugs (as this guy was) are generally very resistant to pepper spray/tazer. Finally, the 21 foot rule. Someone armed with an edged weapon within 21 feet of you can close that distance within 1-2 seconds and, even if shot, survive to stab/slash you (or the other people who were in the apartment). Not much choice in what I saw.

That is also exactly why the I-1639 fuckery had been so easily passed. The statists have all of the metropolitan areas in a stranglehold, which makes it just that much easier to force their will upon the rest of the state. Having seen too often how the commies in NY State use this same method to castrate the Constitution, I can see that this is what they are doing in all of the other states too.

Also, like @Blutroop mentioned, this video and situation is indeed a sight for sore eyes after the clusterfuck that is unfolding in Houston. The police in this case really did a professional job in assessing and neutralizing an obvious lethal threat. Good shoot.

Washington State is kind of an enigma. Out in central Washington, it's about 60% hispanic. 90% of them are legal, either U.S. residents or working on a green card. That other 10% is lillegal itinerant farm workers. Usually on the outs with local law enforcement AND most of the rest of the hispanic population. A large portion of the population smoke weed, but not a whole lot else. All the meth-heads, and there are a lot of them, are white people looking to make a buck selling the shit on the west side.

I worked in Everett from time to time for up to a couple months. That's the sanctuary side. And the side with most of the problems. Lots of drugs, and crap drugs being sold, cut and re-sold. The problem people from down south bought their problems and King County is all too happy to take them on and make a big show of why the U.S. should turn socialist. Because it justifies them cranking the taxes out of sight.

On the side, which includes Spokane and Pullman, there is about 10% hispanic and they are mostly legal. Again, either resident or valid green card holders.

The south side is problematic as well. It's where most of the itinerant workers are and they are about half illegal. The tri-cities area has good and bad spots, but mostly good. Legal or not legal, it's where tons of fruit gets grown, and the Mexicans are hard workers. Then there's those that don't subscribe to traditional hispanic social rules of work and THEY are big problems. Violence, drugs, sale of drugs.

The big problem is that west side far and away has the most population, therefore the most say about the whole state. It's not just the mexicans, it's the liberals that like to manipulate that population to get their way. Most of the rest of the state wants to break away as they see the west coast as out of touch with reality. The state is "broke" but King county gets a new stadium for the Seahawks anyway. Minnesota is the same way. No money. No money, No money, them BAM! We have a billion dollars for a new stadium for the Vikings. Plus over runs if we need it.

Point is, it's not just the Mexicans who are to blame here. It's rich entitled white idiots who don't have any clue how they got their money in the first place enacting laws that {added: they think} suit them.

Annnnnd........we're off :oops::ROFLMAO:

But seriously speaking though, a Taser or pepper spray is NOT something I would consider when going up against a highly excitable and agitated SOB who just beheaded a lady and is still holding the knife and more than willing to use it again. I would hope that I have a full mag loaded with expanding ammunition and if I do have to shoot, it is going to be a mag dump.

A maniac with a knife, in less than 21 feet distance? To hell with that. Anything less than extreme prejudice is going to have you becoming a lifeless heap of shredded biomass very, very quickly. Tasers and pepper spray are not Star Trek phasers or the ultrasonic paralyzers from H. Beam Piper's Paratime series. And you know what is funny? Even Piper had mentioned that the Paratime Police always have their hands on their blasters even when using paralyzers to knock out a suspect, because stunning weapons are not 100% effective and different people have different reactions to the energy outputs of these weapons. Piper was also a gun-writer and he knows the physics behind different calibers, effectiveness of weapons etc.

That said. I had done the pepper spray drill before. Even 1 full minute after a full face-load of standard police issue spray, I was able to nail 3 targets out of 8 at 10-20 yards with a 1911............Pepper spray is NOT what I want to be using against someone who has a sharp blade and can ninja me in 0.5 seconds.

Nice analysis ! (y)(y)
You mention money and Seahawks stadium. The new waterfront/Aurora avenue tunnel needs to be added to your list. Additionally, the Yakima Valley is a major drug distribution point to all over the Northwest, particularly heroin, coming up from Mexico/Central America.

I think their patience with him was beyond reproach. I think very few people in those officers’ position would have waited so long.
He made several motions with his hands before he picked the knife up that could have easily been viewed as going for a weapon that was out of view.

Those whole video made my pulse rise while sitting in the comfort of my living room.

If you have access to airsoft, try the tuller drill

Some folks who get shot don’t stop for a minute or 5

Platt was shot through the aorta in Miami. He went on to kill more FBI agents in the Miami 86 shootout.

I would not count on a few body shots to stop him before he could stab an officer or two.

Action beats reaction. Should he charge the officers, 1/2 the distance could be covered before the first round is fired

If officer was watching the target and then went back to the sights, that does take some time.

12 feet is 4 steps when moving
