Hey guys I have a Seekins box mag on my custom 300 RUM. The shells slide up and out a little too easy. The top of the mag box on the front end seem too loose the rounds nose up early and anytime I haev more than 2 in the mag it casues issues. The extra spring pressure with 3,4 or 5 rounds loaded causes the rounds to push up too much and the second round gets inthe way of round above feeding.

Is there any science to tightening those feed lips? I leave for Africa in less than a month and dont want to muck up my mag box.

Are you using the Seekins proprietary mags or the AICS mags? If the original Seekins mags, you can try to bend the feed lips with some wide mouth pliers but be careful and only a small bit at a time on each side.

Take some long nose pliers and lightly bend the feed lips in. This has to be done on the RUM cases since the mags are setup for Lapua. I built a jig to do it, but the pliers will work as well. You will want approx. 2/3 of the casehead showing above the edge looking at the mag from the rear. I typically set them up so the bottom of the primer is even with the edge of the mag, and then check feeding. Make sure you bend the lips evenly.
