Hi all, looking to get a ar15.this will be a CQ and ringing steel to 4-500 yds.budget is under $2k for rifle,i have a gen 3 razor ready for it.narrowed it down to a Seekins NX15 or a DD4 V7.caliber is going to be 223/556,DD4 is about $400 more than NX15,any and all input or experience with these appreciated,or other options as well.thanks

I've had a couple DD rifles including a V11. Same barrel etc as the v7 but a different handguard. Prices right now are what they are... The Gov't barrel was heavier than my v5lw but both were very accurate, moa'ish w/ good ammo. It's going to come down to opinions and 'I like' etc. V7 used to be 1300ish and I thought that was top dollar for the rifle. More than I was willing to pay, sell my v11 and get it w/ the handguard that I wanted etc.

The thing about DD is that unless its changed in the last year or so... they come w/ crappy mil spec triggers. So add $80-250 for a good trigger.

I would get the Seekins NX15. Especially the way DD they treated Hoog0494. His post is at the top of the page.
But here's a link any way.

I'd also lean towards Seekins. Good manufacturer with a reputation for standing behind their products.

Seekins. CS and quality are incredible.
I’s suggest considering the IRMT-R or IRMT-3 (depending which hand guard you prefer). The combo makes a near monolithic upper as the hand guard truly attaches to the receiver. The weight difference in the end won’t be that much difference, all things added to the rifle.

I would normally say Daniel Defense but after reading that, I'd say screw them. I had a similar Experience with Centurion Arms and one of their large framed receiver sets. Screw me once shame on you, and I'll never buy your shit again or recommend your shit to anybody else.

I had excellent service with Daniel Defense. I had an old DD5v1 rifle that I bought used years ago and was in pretty rough shape from pig/coyote hunting. Purchased a new 6.5 creedmoor upper to use with my old lower and had some problems with it functioning. Called them and told them about it and they sent me a return label and told them to send us everything. Two weeks later I got some boxes in the mail. They sent me a brand new 308 upper and lower. They also test fired the 6.5 creedmoor upper with the new lower. Absolutely amazing service for me.
