Ok, first let me say that if this is common knowledge and I'm just a moron then so be it. I got in a set of Seekins 30mm low rings to use on a .308 build. The rifle had a 20moa Ken Farrell base on it. Well, the rings wouldn't fit the base as the crossbars in the rings were too big for the slots in the base. After talking to another hide member I was informed that the Ken Farrell base would not accept true picatinny rings. Ok, no problem. I get another rifle out of the safe and remove a Night Force 20moa base from it and put it on my .308 thinkin "problem solved". Well the Seekins rings won't fit the Night Force base either. Again the cross bars are just slightly too wide to fit into the cross slots on the base. What's the deal? Do I have a bad NF base or did I get a set off odd Seekins rings? Or do the seekins not fit the NF bases either? Any info would be appreciated. I'm in a major time crunch to get the rifle finished for a upcoming shoot.

NF bases are out of spec! Glens rings are in spec, the slot spacing on NF rings are too narrow (out of spec)

You can make them fit by pressing them on, thats what I did, it didnt take a whole lot of force and it sat on there nice and tight.

Glen PM''d me some measurments as a reference so I'm going to get the calipers out and see where the problem is.

    Thanks for the PM Glen.

FWIW: Here is what's posted on Wikipedia for the rail:

Right on. I had a USO base that was out of spec and had the same problem. It's your base, not the rings. Farrell Industries makes very nice mil-spec scope bases.

Seekins makes excellent picitiny bases as well

Seekins and Badger are two that have taken the trouble to interpret the screwy Picatinny spec correctly. Both rails of those brands I have mic'd out to really consistent tolerances.
