Looking for good budget factory ammo to shoot out of an AR10 platform just for fun. No hunting or bolt gun use. Local shop has lots of Sellier & Bellot 6.5 creedmoor 142gr hpbt for what to me seems pretty reasonable; $22.49 a box. I was wondering if any one has any experience with this ammo?

Not trying to win awards but at the same time I still want something that groups half decent. Mostly shooting 200-700yds steel plates.

Their 6.5 Creedmoor 130gr and 156gr SP stuff is pretty good out of a bolt gun, fairly accurate to boot. I have shot various S&B SP loads, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308, 223 and 243 out of bolt guns and killed both pigs and deer, their 223 and 308 HPBT out of gas guns and it's always gone bang and has been decently accurate. I wouldn't be afraid of it, but there are better deals out there

Just a couple

Have a newer shooter who tried various lower cost 6.5cm rounds have great results with it. 10shot ES a tad under 30fps with a 25 shot string only 34fps. Probably 3/4-1moa favoring towards 1moa. SD close to or single digits over the 100rds he has shot.

Low BC for todays standards but beats hornadys 50-60fps ES over the same sample size.

THanks everyone for the feedback. Maybe I will pickup a couple boxes and give it a go.

Also thanks @Darryle for the info on a better deal. My local store has 500rd boxes as well for $519 so still about $20 more than your link but pretty comparable. But I am for sure going to shop around at SGAmmo so see what else they have. Thanks again for this info!
