Re: Semi auto kills picture thread....
I have more 6.8 kills than I can post, but here's a few memorable shots
-11 years old (my GF's daughter)
-ARPerformance 20" 12 twist, 3 groove 6.8 X 43mm with DMR chamber
-95 grain Barnes TTSX over 28 grains of St. Mark's powder (experimental double base spherical) at approx 2920 FPS
-Distance 90 yards, buck was shot in the heart and went about 30 yards, obviously hit, and we saw it fall, no follow up required.
245 lb hog, shot off my back porch at the ranch. The hog was standing on the range, next to a reactive prairie dog target at 250 yards.
-Rifle was a Ko-tonics 12.5 inch 6.8 SPCII with D-740 Gen III scope. I spotted him with thermal, aimed with NOD, then held high on the shoulder and the bullet hit where I aimed.
Load was 95 TTSX over 29.5 grains of Reloder 110X (seeing a pattern yet?)
1 shot, DRT....damn
Pic may not look all that special to you, but it is to me. This pig was killed by one of my soldiers attending the hunts for Heroes we sponsored last year. He's holding a carbon 15 pistol length upper with TAM14 thermal (my back up gun when guiding) but the pig was shot with an 85 TSX loaded over 31 grains of St. Mark's powder. One shot to the neck, DRT.
The 6.8 kicks ass with Barnes bullets.
