I was watching videos of the NRL 2019 Finals and noticed a left hand shooter shooting a right hand bolt gun. Not too unusual to see this. Then I saw another right hand shooter, but with a left hand bolt gun. Both were shooting in somewhat standard prone positions. ?? Since these guys must be pretty good to be shooting in the NRL Finals, it made me wonder. Is there any competitive advantage shooting 'cross-handed' with a bolt action in PRS or NRL? I ask as I am in this situation, having my right eye go bad and switching to shooting my RH bolt gun left handed. Actually, I am doing pretty good this way, but do you see any advantage?

I’m a LH shooter, most of my guns are RH. Operating controls on an AR is easier for me, support hand does mag changes, fire control hand does bolt catch, safety, and trigger without changing grip.
For my rimfire .22’s, support hand runs bolt, mag changes, press checks. On my centerfire bolt guns I use LH action. Otherwise I would have to break my cheek weld to run the bolt. But, I can see the chamber and the windage turret better. Having the ejection port in front of your face sucks, but nothing bad has happened yet and I still have my facial features intact.
There are a lot of BR actions on the market that offer custom options for feed and ejection sides with dual ports, like a left hand feed right hand eject etc to streamline the single feed process. Do what works for you.
