Having my tikka ctr cut down to 18" tomorrow and also ordering a sandman L can... I was just thinking, the weight of the can, in the factory ctr stock wont push the barrel down to the point of it contacting the inside of the stock will it?

It'll live on my match rifle the majority of the time, but being my only can it'll have to be what I hunt with.
Since almost all of my shooting if off a tripod/bipod... figured I'd grab the L and have a quieter bolt gun.
After I get it, Ill probably order a Omega for my AR/hunting rifles.
Id just go for the omega first. Its a great can, and a bunch smaller and lighter. I dont think you’ll hear the difference between them.
That was the plan, but they are back ordered 6 weeks on silencer shop and I really didnt want to wait an extra 6 weeks lol
Man, id still go for the omega. Silencershop jas a bunch of nomad 30’s in stock. The only thing that would make me prioritize a sandman over the others is the need for a harsh firing schedule, which you dont have the need for. Just my .02.
I wouldn’t mind a nomad, but I have 3 bolt guns I want to swap this can around on and didn’t want to have to remove and add muzzle brakes back on and off due to having a DT can. And the nomad with a keymo and brake added separately is an additional $350 which turned me off to the nomad
Area 419 hellfire system is your friend. The sandman will have you stuck with $100 keymo brakes for every new rifles as well.
check out the Griffin Explorr can. It’s light, full auto rated and has no barrel length restrictions. It’s a tank, but it weighs 12.5oz and then get the 1oz titanium brake and you’ve got a light bombproof set up. Sounds great on top of it all. And cheaper than all the other options mentioned especially factoring in a key mo.

You dont need to buy a brake at all. The universal adapters are $40. You buy one for each rifle. Their suppressor adaptor for the omega or nomad(same part for either/same rear thread) is $90. If you want the brake, you can buy that too.
In the case of the omega. Sell the ASR mount it comes with for $125 here in the classifieds. That pays for the area 419 stuff, then each new rifle costs $40 to adapt. Some would say just direct thread everything, which would certainly be the cheapest. I like the nitrided machine taper the 419 uses.

I’m interested now. The keymo still seems faster, but I could buy 1 brake and have it on the 2nd rifle if my wife or friend is shooting while I use the can, or the other way around.
I do like the nomad for being quieter, maybe I’ll get the nomad L lol the long cans look better on bolt guns to me for some reason
I just backordered a Nomad LT after handling it, very light and the L version of the Nomad has excellent suppression.
I thought my Sandman S was too heavy for a walking around can so wanted to buy a Nomad Ti at under 10 oz but the LT is light enough for me to deal with the length for the suppression it gives.
Keymo is nice. Quick and repeatable but the mounts add up $$$ quick even though I get a mil discount on them about $75/ea.
I dont think theres a speed advantage for either. The keymo is great system, i think its better for fighting guns and stuff youre really gonna be full on rock-n-roll with. For precison and hunting, i prefer short and light. 419 even makes a Titanium suppressor adapter if you so choose. With the omega or nomad, you wouldn't be locked out of the keymo system, as they make keymo for those too.
I believe you are wrong. He would need a universal adaptor for every rifle. These are $45 a piece. The suppressor adaptor is only needed to be placed or threaded into the can itself. Once your can has that suppressor adaptor, you can put it on all your rifles that already have the universal adaptor.
Another thing to note, if your rifles are all setup this way, with a universal adaptor, you will probably also want thread protectors for each. This adds more cost as well.

The $40 is only for the one can. The $45 is for each rifle, however many that may be.

I went back to double check and you are correct.
The universal adaptors which would go on every rifle are $40 and not $45. I believe i mistakenly looked at sidewinder universal adaptors, which are irrelevant here, and that's how I ended up with $45.

Its more of a custom order thing. At least with some of the manufacturers that i've seen. You'll be asked to enter length, diameter, etc. You are referring to the suppressor covers right?

For my TBAC Dominus, i also found that there weren't many suppressor covers made specific to fit mine. However, I went with the one linked below.

Like stello said, its a custom thing. I think it's better that way because you can make it yours. I like cole-tac for mine, but there are others. Delivery times from cole-tac are dang speedy for a custom item.
Love my Cole TAC covers! Just enter length and diameter. I like to make mine a bit shorter. Especially on like a Surefire locking ring or ASR mount. As for the cans, for your use the Nomad or Nomad L is badass man. Those are sweet cans. I’d get either over the sandman, especially for bolt use. Area 419 system is awesome too!!

419. Shorter, and much lighter. Probably fair to assume you will end up woth more than three rifles, so each new rifle will save you $50 ish bucks over the keymo brakes.
Explain this, I keep hearing it but from what I see, the area 419 hellfire is $160 with the adaptor... and the keymo brake is $98
Each new rifle requires a universal adapter. Universal adapters are $40. $160 is for a universal adapter and one muzzle brake. The area 419 brake can be swapped to any rifle with a universal adapter. The keymo brake cannot.
Nobody who uses 419 for suppressors buys a stack of brakes. You need one at most. For me, I need none, because I have no need to shoot unsuppressed.

Just got my ctr stock in and painted it up. Mounted the mk5. The 18” tikka is ready for deer season.
