Shorty FAL- shout out to Texas gunsmith(with vid)

Found out about Randy through the FAL files. He goes by Sledeghammer. After several emails back and forth describing that I really wanted to turn my FAL into a lightweight, short 100 yard pig/ranch gun. I also did not want to lose any of the function of the FAL and the adjustability of the gas system. Randy and I decided on the following with my stock DSA FAL 21".

Cut barrel and perm install comp from Primary Weapon Systems. Adjust has system to compensate for shorter barrel. Go through gun to make sure everything was sound. I got it back and shot it the other day and I am 100% satisfied. Here is Randy's information.

Best group was around 3.5"-4.0" with irons at 100y (mostly due to me and not the gun) Function was 100% and adjustment to gas produced even softer recoil. I had so much fun shooting it. The comp really helped out as you can see in the vids and pics below. Big shout out to Randy.

Why did you have the PWS brake permed - did you go <16" on the barrel?

I ran some 20 Yd drills this morning with a 21" FAL with the PWS and another 21" FAL with the standard Belgium Short FH (both are builds). The difference was very noticeable, both on the clock and ability to keep shots in the A zone due to less muzzle jump with the PWS_FAL brake. I really like that the PWS goes on with a crush washer.

I have a Vanden Berg comp on another FAL and it's clearly better in recoil reduction, but in a bigger package.

I love the PWS. My bro has one on his AK and it works awesome. You can see in the vid that the recoil is significantly less than a stock DSA FAL. I love it.

I also have one on my AK, makes the gun much easier to control in rapid fire strings. Virtually no muzzle climb! Though I don't think it does much for recoil...

Nice FAL, I'm jealous. I need to add one to my collection.
