PRS Talk Shot my first match today

I came in 11th. Not bad but I can shoot better. I completely lost my fundamentals on a few stages. And on the last stage (the barricade) we had to shoot 2 shots from four different positions, after my third shot something happened to my rifle and it wouldn't shoot anymore?? The trigger would not pull. I was three for three until that happened. But was a good learning experience. There was people from Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi there including three swat team snipers from Louisiana. I did manage to out shoot them somehow.

Nice, nothing like getting out competing to really see where you're at and what you need to work on.

One other thing I personally look at in competition placing is not just what place in the match I got, but what % of the winner score I shot. That tells you more since it takes out the issue of whether there were only a few good shooters or lots of good shooters. At one match 80% might get you 8th place, and at another match 80% might get you 40th place.

What gear or equipment did you wish you would have brought or had?

I had to borrow a dudes bag to put on the barricade for that part of it. Other than that I was OK. The shots I missed were purely my fault, more or different gear wasn't the problem.

I was just wondering I keep looking at the Armageddon Bags I might grab one before my first match they look pretty handy.

Good for you, but pail. First and last names .. sure for a national final.. they understand that that might be published.

You will also soon learn than most Swat guys don’t work much past 100/200.. their job is way more than shooting off a barricade.. no need to toss that in..
