SHOT Show Report - Day 3

Day 3:

My day started with a very nice meeting with the folks over at March Optics. Mari is a lovely person who I know I would enjoy doing business with. The only issue is in order to work with March, at this time, I would have to import directly from Japan. In the grand scheme of things this is possible and they do offer great optics with some innovative options, however, between the shipping, customs & customs broker fees it's not a sound business decision. Mari did indicate that she may be working with a central distributor here in the USA in the future and of course at that time we will revisit the idea of becoming a March dealer.

Gotta get everything in today as I leave tomorrow morning. My next meeting was with with Leupold. I posted already about all the products that they discontinued. Their new products are:

We ordered some of the VX Freedom Illuminated 3-9X40 (30mm) Illum. FireDot Tri-MOA & VX-Freedom 4-12X50 (30mm) CDS Illum. FireDot Duplex scopes. I think they are a nice addition and priced well. We shall see how the field reviews are when they arrive.

Something new and different for Leupold is their new Line of Performance Eyewear. Actually pretty great quality. Maybe not something we would handle here but maybe over at my Tackle Shop

I next went to meet with a rep from Pulsar Thermal Riflescopes
We have been doing more and more with Pulsar and I wanted to get a more hands on with the products. Very enlightening. We plan to expand business with Pulsar.

Our FotoPro Tripod rep also reps for an outdoor accessory company called Field Optics and asked me to come by to look at BiPods, Accessories and such. So very glad I did. We are most certainly bringing in a BUNCH of their products.

Their PRO39-MIL ASPLR System was amazing quality:

BT Precision FBT5436C Bowl Top Tripod
Designed specifically for weapon support systems, Precision Rifle Shooting (PRS), Long Range Shooting Competition Shooting and videography. Off to the Tactical area for a meeting with Tangent Theta. I enjoy visiting with Jason. What a great guy.

Last year we opened with Nightforce and have enjoyed a fantastic experiance with them since day 1. My rep is awesome. She is as attentive as can be and is always looking out for us and helping to expedite orders for us.
As announced last week, their new Wedge Prism was their new introduction this year.
The Wedge Prism is a clip-on accessory that mounts to a forward or continuous MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail to increase the effective elevation travel. It optically shifts the incoming image to the riflescope by a precise elevation value, which directly adds to the available elevation travel within any riflescope.

A close friend in the industry has taken the head sales position over at Vanguard. I've been back and forth with Vanguard through the years. Some of their items have been of interest but I never saw a reason to take the plunge.

Starting small they have a great Porta-Aim Portable Gun Rest.
Constructed of rugged aluminum, Porta-Aim gun rest provides stable shooting support in an easily portable device for the fast-action hunter. Porta-Aim enables users get on target and stay therewith a 360-degree swiveling bag.

Vesta 8320M monocular is very cool. It's like they broke an 8x42 binocular in half. It comes with a smart phone adapter and blue tooth remote so you can get some great images.
