This is a random shotgun I came across and do not recognize the stock.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

A pretty slick boomstick, no doubt. Would like that stock but not inline with the barrel, some downangle would be nice.

Anybody know what kind of adaptor that is between the stock and the receiver?

Re: What kind of stock is this?

Using there high tube adapter it puts everything on the same plane as an AR. So if you like AR's and don't have a problem putting new sights on then that would be the way to go but if you want to keep the original sights then the low tube would be best. That said the sights on ether will be about the same height above the comb of the stock on ether one assuming you change the sights for the high tube adapter.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

I do have a problem with ARs, which is why I made the comment. I have a huge frikkin' head. It sucks.

I would prefer ghost ring sights on the shotgun to start off with, which I think would require that I get pretty low.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

They do, to get anything to fit comfortably I have to raise stuff up, which I think you are supposed to avoid but I have to do with ARs. For my varmint AR/Leupold VX III I have fat risers, but an ACOG set up is not as bad on my M4 style.

Iron sights are a no-go on an AR unless they are on a carry handle, which I took off for the ACOG.

So it isn't really an issue once I get that setup going, but the only shotgun I have is another story. I have a family hand me down Remington "Sportsman" which is a tradition layout, and it doesn't sit very comfortably as is, if the comb was more in line with the barrell I imagine it would be almost unusable.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

What I want to do is get a 3" police magnum and get an action job done on it and have the barrel back bored and polished. I'd install the Mesa Tactical high tube adapter, Enidine shot stock, Magpul CTR stock with .7" rubber butt pad, Magpul MIAD grip, Mesa Tactical 6 shell shot shell holder on the left side and 4 shell holder on the right, KAC top rail, Surefire railed for end, Magpul AFG, Surefire X300, Troy BattleSight Rear Tritium Di-Optic Aperture (DOA) Folding, LMT fixed front sight, Grizzly Customs mag tube extension, Aim point T1 micro,Armalite .875" picatinny gas block and Grizzly customs button head safety. I'd have the barrel melonited and the receiver coated in OD green cerakote.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

I like everything about that S/G, except the chambering. A 20ga will deliver around 85% the 'downrange component' as a 12ga, with a bunch less recoil. Even less with a semi. 20ga buck loads provide 20+ pellets per shot of #4 buck, and 20ga rifled slugs can be as accurate as many AR's out to around 70-100yd. Sabots pack the same ballistics as a .44Mag. Deer slug hunters around here are making the switch to 20ga.

Where is the adapter for the wheels to roll that fucking thing around on?

What the fuck is all that shit needed for other than to look like the ultimate mall ninja?

Re: What kind of stock is this?

How about because I want to and because I can. I already have lightweight simple shotguns with nothing on them. As far as the mall ninja thing goes... we all do it every now and again.

Agreed. 870's are lightweight to begin with and the total package wouldn't be any worse than my Socom 16 (probably even a little more balanced) I love so much. It's always an option to hit the gym too if somebody has an issue with the weight.

Feel better now that you have vented?

Like anything, once you begin to run a platform on the ragged edge you look for ways to improve it.

Reloading from a side-saddle is a lot faster than fishing in your pocket. A high tube adapter makes it easier to control through recoil when running defensive loads. The railed forend makes it nice to mount a light, because shit happens after dark. Sights....well they are just a real good idea. I would probably add a heads up sight like a MRD or Aimpoint Micro. Faster and more precise for slugs.

For awhile a shotgun was the only long gun I was authorized to carry. It's still one of the most devastating.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

+1 to LoneWolf's comments.

My 930SPX is set up very similarly to that shotgun minus the M93/F93 stock and MIAD which are both a no-go on a semi-auto like the 930. Side-saddles and/or buttstock mounted shell carriers are a MUST have if you plan on running any tactical reloads or speed drills with a shotgun (like what you'll need for 3-gunnin' or similar situations...don't get me wrong, reloads from shells on the belt and/or pockets get done too)! My shotguns run ghost ring iron sights that are setup for distance shots with slugs and a Burris FF red dot for closer shots with 00 buck and similar shot loads.

Like LW said...DEVASTATING! If it is within 100yds, whatever I'm shooting at is going to be hurtin' in a hurry!

Re: What kind of stock is this?

Ehh my scattergun has an extended tube and a set of sights on it, zero'd with Fiocchi 7/8oz slugs at 100 yards and groups about 3 inches at that distance. At 50 yards its 6 inches high with the same slugs.

My scattergun gets used for 3gun only, I dont see the need for all that other shit hanging off it to get hung up on everything.

Re: What kind of stock is this?

Hey guys; my Mall Ninja SKS was 'finest kind' back in the 1990's. It was fun and I didn't know any better. I still have the parts put away somewhere. Who knows, maybe they'll find some use someday, and besides, I did no harm...
