Ive got an opportunity to get the Nikon Monarch X 2.5 - 10 x 44mm with the illuminated reticle for $200 or possibly free. It would be going on a remington 700 .223. I would never shoot over 200 maby 300 yards. I have a falcon menace 4-14 right now, would I be better off with the Nikon and selling the menace? Thanks for opinions.

"Is going from a 14x to a 10x going to make a big difference at 100 yards?"

Not enough of a difference.
That's the best scope from Nikon. You can always sell it for around $600. I pay you $350 for it, if is in a working condition.

Keep the Menace and send me the info on the scope. I'd love to replace my TRS-1 with a Monarch X.

Re: Should I do this Nikon???

Buy it for sure and sell whichever you like least if you need the cash. You will make money easy on the Nikon. I had a 4-16 Monarch X a couple of years ago and was very happy with it. Glass was better than Mk4 and features were pretty comparable. Folks say they aren't as good as the original Nikon Tacticals, but they are still good scopes and plenty for the average guy.

Good luck,
Erik

Is there any reason you dont mention what, exactly, the problem is? Or are you waiting to be asked?

Troll account?
