I could use the money to help on my down payment on a house I am inerested in or should I keep it.

Re: Should I sell this???

First instinct is to tell you to sell it to me dirt cheap. The second instinct is to tell you that if you can find another way, keep it. You will have a hard time replacing it later. If you can't find another way then do what you must because ultimately you will get FAR more out of a home than this firearm in the long run. Sometimes it sucks being an adult and having to make these decisions but just be thankful you're in a position to have a decision to make if you get my drift.

Re: Should I sell this???

Unpopular opinion:

It is old technology; it is a large PISTOL that has been superseded by SBRIFLES; in it's current configuration it is a prize to purists that want to hack the barrel. Really - in it's current configuration - what's the point?

If it was mine? It'd be gone in a heartbeat and I be close to $5k better off.

Enjoy the house.

With all the stuff with the gun I can't sell it for less than $5000.00.

No, it is not a DOJ.

If I keep it and after getting the house with furniture one day I would want to fill out the paperwork and turn it into claass 3 firearm just for the heck of it. My dad tells me to keep it because when the family gets together everyone likes to shoot my guns. I want to buy a house and then pay it off in less than 6 years; I have the ability and means to do it.

Re: Should I sell this???

I have had to make many such painful decision over the past decade.

Basically, the only way to make it work is to hold out until no other options are available, and then; once done, never look back.

Truthfully, I would never have sold any of my guns as long as any other option was available. Because there were none, I refuse to second-guess those decisions. I suppose I could get my self worked up, but essentially, it would be a case of crying over spilled milk.

You do what you must, only when you have no other choice; and then you move on, case closed.

Only you can say when it's fish or cut bait.

What you're asking is a relative question and based on this phrase alone I would say no, don't sell it.

Re: Should I sell this???

If you sell it, what are you going to put IN your new house? Betcha didn't think of that did you. If you don't want it anymore, then sell it but don't sell it if you think you'll regret it later unless someone is offering you stupid money for it.

Re: Should I sell this???

It's a Tough Call! The Time is Really Right in the Housing Marketplace. The more cash down, the stronger you look to the seller and your bank! Your H&K is a Beauty, there will always be another one to come down the road. But the real question is:
Will it be as Nice as Yours, and How Much More Out Of Your Pocket? House's Can & Do Become a Money Pit !!!

Re: Should I sell this???

Um...if you're planning to pay off a house in 6 years, I say SELL IT, buy an MP5, buy an M107, buy some other cool stuff...and pay off the house in 7 years vs 6.

I'd agree with Mike on this one. In its current configuration, what's the point? If it were an SBR, that'd totally change my opinion, but the only coolness currently in the gun is that it has HK quality.

Re: Should I sell this???

SELL SELL SELL.....!

Its pointless to own...its a oversize pistol. You are 100% set on making it into an SBR - which will cost you...a stamp $200....a quality Hk shortening OR a pulled Mp5 3-lug barrel installed, recoated and marked $1k.....after al lof that you still have a large oversize SEMI-AUTO pistol that looks cool but does not have a burst or auto feature....at which point any chance of reselling it later on gets tricky because now it requires stamps and a waiting period....

Do I have some Semi-SBR's...sure! They are a PITA to sell..and quite honestly cost me more because I end up wanting to acquire sear-packs..which cause more wear and tear..which mean I buy more spare parts....its a vicious cycle. Sell that gun now, buy yourself a decent ROLEX and throw the remainder into the bank.
