Here are a couple pics of some stands I made for paper targets. Light weight, portable, and easy to make. If you don't glue all the parts together(some will have to be glued), they will break down to a pretty small size.
I like those a lot. Lightweight and portable. On a windy day you could use U-shaped rebar pieces to hold it in the ground.
I might have to build me a few of those! What did you do to the PVC end caps where the wood enters? Drill and cut? </div></div>
Yep, drilled and cut them to fit with a jig saw. I sealed all the joints so that I could fill them with water or sand if need be. I have never had them blow over like they are. If the wind is blowing that hard, it moves the targets around quite a bit as is.
If I made some more, I would not glue all of it so I could take them apart.
