I'm looking to apply some rail covers on my Sanders upper. I'm going to put a Harris adapter underneath for my bipod, but I don't know what I want to do for covers. Looking to add some comfort who's ascetics don't suck. I'm hoping some of the members here could show me what you've done. TIA.

Yeah if I was wanting to spend $55 on those I'd make my own for free out of wood or derlin.

I considered those types of panels when I was looking at rail covers but my concern with those and the "rail scales" another poster mentioned, is how hot would those metal attachment screws get after a while?
Probably negligible. It's a small portion of the overall area. The radiated heat isn't magically focused into just the area where the covers are.

I know it's not concentrated there but the screws would heat up to the temp of the underlying aluminum. Which can get pretty warm, hence one of the reasons for the use of covers. The temp of the aluminum obviously varies by the rate of fire, if the gas block is there or with suppressor use.
