How do these perform against each other? Plan to use them against coyote this coming week in a 308. 165gr

They kill Hogs Very well; here are 2 small ones Sierra .308 165gr SPBT went through both, also shot another couple of Boars average chrono speed 2675. This bullet works well on pigs from .308's. I doubt your Coyote's will casue it to open much they did not open that much on these pigs. Rifle is the AIA M10 B1 Sporter using a newly made and strengthened Lee Enfield action.

anyone else using the HPBT 165 gamekings? I just loaded up a bunch for my .308 with 42.5g of varget. Planning on trying them at the range this week.

Shot'm in my DPMS ...with 45.5 of varget shot well (under an inch). No test "subjects" yet though

I push the 165 GR BTHP with 42.2 grains of AA2520 or 43.5 grains IMR 4064. I've consistently killed whitetails out to 400 yards with one shot.
In 2004 my son and I hunted in Maryland in a field that was ranged to 275 yards. A 190lb 10 point walked out along with a 8 point. I shot the 10 pointer at 275 yard DRT. My son shot the 8 pointer at 250 yards. I watched his deer drop right there, unfortunately he was a little green and he hit the deer more or less in the gut. When we went to the deer his had crawled off onto the marsh. We found blood and stomach contents.
I have seen MANY deer hit and run and die. I have never seen a deer get literally knocked down so hard. If we had been in a woods we would have found it but unfortunately the marshes on the Eastern Shore are not a place you go without the right gear and knowing them. My son was obviously upset but he learned and practiced for the next season. He has not lost or missed a deer since.
BOTTOM LINE THIS BULLET HITS HARD!! I have used these loads in my Rem 700, Ruger 77 and in my M1A The performed accurately in all the rifles

I hit a doe 2 months ago at 260 yards, right through the heart, entered right at the edge of back of the shoulder and exited the far side...
hit the ground HARD..

1,2 CRAP! it got up and ran away..
luckily only about 30 yards!
I don't expect them to drop unless it's a CNS hit, but never seen one hit the ground so hard and then get up and run off.
it was a nervous 30 minutes while I waited it out...

Thanks for all the input guys, loaded up 135 of them so far, they sure do look pretty on my bench though. Didn't get a chance to shoot them yet, been messing with this .30 remington ar that DPMS screwed up on me. Oh well, hopefully soon... Too many guns to shoot, not enough time.
