What is the Sig 320 like? Never fired one let alone even seen/picked one up. A guy has a 320 (compact?)he's looking to sell or trade for a 365. I've got 3 of the 365's, not that I don't like them (obviously I do), but always looking to try something new.

The P320 is a lot bigger than the P365

Value wise, depending on the model, base model to base model, they are similar.

I guess the big 2 questions are:
Exactly which P320 model does he want to trade you?
Do you want a full sized pistol?

I believe it's a compact. That's why it held a little interest for me. I know it will still be bigger than the 365, just didn't know how much. I really like the 365, and although it really doesn't concern me, the primer swipe issue still bothers me a bit, if that makes sense!! Just considering.

Now you can get the P320 and then pull the trigger group out and get a different grip frame size ($39 and up) to put it in, but you may also need new mags if you go up in size ($40 and up), and then the slide can be purchased separately, but since the slide / barrel assembly gets expensive, I'd go look at the SIG website and see what you actually want to end up with and then decide from there.

Manual safety is only available from the factory currently in the P320-M17 and the P320 Compact and the P365
(Must be ordered with it, or it comes with no safety).

I'm not sure that the Compact P320 plain gives you much over the P365 if you add the 12 or 15 round mag to the P365, but it does get you into the build your own world of the P320 line.

However if you want to go all out it's better to just get something like the P320 X5 Legion which runs in the low $800 range and comes with the trigger upgrade, cut slide, tungsten infused grip, and 4 of the 21 round magazines.

I had a carry sized 320, put around 3500 rounds thru it in about 6 months and liked it ok, only issue first me was how "tall" the slide is and the angle of the grip.
Finally found one to look at today, got to say, didn't care for it. Didn't mind the larger size of it, but wow, you're right, the slide area is huge. Makes my full size 1911 look small. Seems to be a reliable firearm, but just don't care for the "tall" slide.

Did get to see my first 365XL too. Now, I like that one. I've always liked the 365's but the XL really feels a bit more solid. I'd take that over the 320 any day.

I really need to get my hands on a 365xl.....I pocket carry a glock 43 every day at work, and any other time I carry a cz or fn 9mm with tlr1....just gotta convince myself that theres a whole that needs to be filled with a 365 lol

Hope this helps :)

Edit: All are the wife's, she has a weird Sig obsession while I have a walther/colt/chiappa thing going on.

I believe that the 365 is a very good move for Sig. They have taken a saturated market, with almost no room to improve, and changed the game. Capacity sells, but it traditionally increases the size. Now, to have a Sig that is (marginally) smaller than the 43 yet has the capacity of the 26- that's an accomplishment. And, sales show that striker-fired guns sell.
So, I believe that Sig will sell a ton of them, and the market will have a lot to think about, and try to top.
I love my G43. It carries very well. To have the same advantage, but have 50% more capacity- that's gotten me thinking about a P365.

My question is why do you have 3 of the 365s? Lol. I’ve got a 320 compact it’s too big for me to carry

Duh....I've got 2 hands!! I've got 2 RIA compact 45's too. Always kinda wanted one of those 2 rig shoulder holsters for those like Bruce Willis used in the movie "Last man standing". Oh, yeah, the third 365's for my daughter.

P365 is thinner in the grip not so much in the slide as the p365 is 1" and the p320sc is 1.06 . Big difference is grip width and weight as the p365 is 17.5oz with shorter length by .75 and height by .4 over a gluck 43 only .15 taller but that depends on mag base pad .
