I’m chasing a very odd issue that I haven’t seen before and can’t figure out what it’s doing. Here’s the setup

Sig 716 Gen1
ASR Flash hider with Saker 30cal
Zeiss LRP S3 5-25
Atlas PSR bipod

Ammo is Berger 175gr OTM, I’ve also tested with Federal Gold Medal with SMKs loaded, both are factory ammo. I put a chrono on and the rounds don’t vary in velocity more than 15 fps from each other.

I have shot this rifle in the past and can make a one hole group at 100 yards with this exact setup. But now I have a string of about 18 inches at 100yards vertically. Horizontally they are about 1/2 inch apart. I put a DBAL with a green laser on the rail just to see if the scope is shifting from shot to shot, laser stays in the same spot in the scope every time. I also have a witness mark on the scope and rings from when I mounted it and it hasn’t moved. I have verified the parallax, that scope is picky with it, but it is set for that distance. I also put the rifle on bags to rule out the bipod. The silencer is good, I can put it on another rifle and shoot an MOA group easily. Everything is tight on the rifle, my next thought is something with the piston is causing it to shift when firing. But I’ve never seen stringing this bad, so any insight would be great.

Do you have any M-lok screws poking through and touching the barrel? Or nearly touching the barrel that can be forced to touch when you apply pressure to the HG?

Might remove the suppressor and try to see if the problem goes away just for the sake of sanity. I would say the barrel is loose but it's weird that it's only vertical. Sounds more like something binding/pressing in the vertical plane.

ETA: How is the optic mounted?

Optic is mounted to a Nightforce single piece mount.

Also, this thread may have been a waste of time, I thought of something as soon as I posted it. Noticed my gas setting was set to overgassed, changed it to minimal, shot 10 in 3/4 group. Probably my issue.
