Nothing better than burning a holiday saved and shooting the M40A1ish.

100 yard line at Sig Academy...

    Zero checked? Check.

    300 yard line at Sig...

    Getting data at 300.

I started on the low circle, 10 shots, added a tenth or so right, 5 at the middle, 5 at the top. Screwing around I tried to put one in each shoulder black and than in the black between the bottom and middle circles those were the errant shots.

    1000 yard line.....

If you are going to finally remember to focus out your parallax this was the place to do it. There was so much mirage I didn't notice it and it wasn't a factor whacking torsos at 300 or 500. Plates at 1000 it didn't really matter either. Than the instructor put up a few T stands with balloons and when I was going through my list of things to tighten up my shit I remembered "Parallax". Calling and hitting your designated party balloons with confidence at 1000 was great. We ended up the day shooting spray paint cans at 750 yards. Good day shooting stuff.

The rifle line....nice sage EBR in there being worked by a Fleet Corpsman. I guess he kind of stuck with his MOS, he is now a Marine Biologist....

Today, assuming no OT, Ill get some zero info on the PWS M40 at 200.

so i take it you recommend the course?....ive been thinking about taking it.

If you don't have regular access to 1000 yards its one way to do it.

Its expected that you have gear that will do it and a basic idea of what your dope may be and the coach is there more to get you on target rather than to teach fundamentals.

Joining Granby would be cheaper but I probably couldn't access that too often and unknown if Id have a coach.

actually let me amend what I wrote above......Sig will loan you gear as long as you have some sort of knowledge or willingness to do it.

    How much does this cost??

That really isn't bad for a occasional session with a coach. A session once a year would be nice.

However, Granby is a must in this area. Even if you go a couple or three times a year...$100 is nothing.

I am taking my first class in July. LRI in NY with Frank himself. I am thrilled.

I agree Granby is a good deal. The party running it is squared away. I read the course of fire for his last match run, swinging platforms......

I've seen some of the swinging platforms.
Haven't shot off one yet though.

    R

IIRC correctly you start with your gear staged on the platform and you stand behind the platform.

Seems like half the battle is getting on the platform in such a way you don't get it swinging.
