Hello, I'm in the beginning stages of selecting a scope for a Cross rifle in 6.5cm. What scopes are you running and why? I'm thinking I'll stay with something in the medium magnification range, and want to prioritize compact and lightweight. Thanks!

What's your budget range?
That is probably the first question you need to ask.

If you are in the sub $1500 range, it's hard to beat what the Vortex RAZOR HD LHT 4.5-22 x50 scope offers for a crossover hunting / target shooting scope.
Especially for the price Scott and Liberty Optics can get you one for.

Now you have money in the mid $3k range, there are some really nice, really light & compact March scopes.
Similar price range, things like the TT 3-15 scope start becoming an option as well.

Probably sub $1k and I'm thinking I don't want/need anything bigger than 16x. Still want second focal plane though...

I've been eyeing this scope for a while. Thoughts?

Another vote for the Razor LHT 4.5-22.

And from another thread...The cross and the fix rifles have a similar design intent..so this is worth posting here.
I am using the new Vortex Razor HD-LHT 4.5-22x50 on my Fix and it is perfect there: FFP, less than 22 ounces, functional reticle.

I said SFP but meant FFP. I think I'm either getting the recommended above Razor HD LHT 3-15x42, or the Primary Arms scope I linked to above. Does anyone have any feedback on Primary Arms scopes in general, if not the specific model linked above? Anybody use the ACSS reticle and have feedback?

Just to be clear, the 3-15 LHT is second focal plane, the 4.5-22 LHT is first focal plane.

Put this new Vortex on mine. Compact, nice magnification range and for me it was cheap..

Nightforce 2.5-10, Leupold MK AR mount. Perfect height and balance on the scope for the INTENDED use of the rifle. Had some fun with mine yesterday, nothing impossible but was whacking a 4" plate at 300 kneeling.

Not the OP, If one wants to run a 20-80x100 scope and add 10 pounds of lead to the gun, you chose the wrong gun.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going with the PA scope linked above. May I ask what you all are using for scope mount? The rifle as you know came with a 0 MOA scope rail, should I be looking for a 20MOA mount? Do I need an offset on the mount, or not? Sorry I guess it's pretty obvious I don't really know what i'm doing. Last question; are any of you running any kind of muzzle device, or suppressor?

The cross actually has 20 MOA rail built in (search thread) so you don't need to do anything with cant.

Bases vs rings is a complex question. The front bit of the cross rail screws into a barrel extension. And the pic rail is very thin and light. Because of the rail situation, i could very well see running a 1pc mount for exta stiffness.I could also see runnig it cantilevered to keep the mount direclty on the main action.

However, nothing really beats good lightweight rings for trying to keep the rifle light on the scales.

YMMV so feel free to make own decisions.
