I'm starting the information gathering phase to decide on which rangefinder to get. I will eventually be shooting out to mile and not for hunting. I don't have a Kestrel, but do have a Trasol ballistic program. The question is am I better off with the Kilo 2200 and a Kestrel or the Kilo 2400. It seems like Kilo 2400 does everything at a higher price tag, about $1499. With Kilo 2200 and a LE price on the Kestrel in looking at about $1100 plus the AB program and the tripod holder for the Kilo 2200. Roughly around $1200. In the scheme of things, from what I spent on my rifle, scope and the rest equipment the difference in cost I guess is immaterial, but what is the best option or is the another good option. I have never used a rangefinder. You help would be appreciated.

Personally I would skip the Kestrel and check out the Weatherflow / Weathermeter stuff. The meter is $89 and does DA and will wirelessly sync with BallisticsArc, which is a pretty solid app that runs on the JBM model, has Litz values for BC, and supports much of the same functionality as AB with a better UI.

I snagged a new Kilo 2200MR on the forums for $410, so that may save you some coin vs. Kestrel / Trasol etc.
