I'm interested in one of these for concealed carry. Anyone have any experience with the 220 carry? Which model is best? Also, I like the FDE combat, but it would probably be much harder to ccw?

Thanks for any help, I'm gonna go around tomorrow and try to compare a few models as I'm not very educated with this model.

The deciding factor will be your body type, the holster you choose and where you decide to carry. All the Sigs you mention are great pistols. It will be a matter of which one you can hide the best.

Finding a holster for the combat as a result of its picatinny rail will make it a pain in the ass for you. Go with the carry.

I've owned a 220 Combat, & it's a great medium to large size gun. It would be difficult to carry concealed, unless you wore a jacket or baggy shirt. It's also a pain to find a holster for it concealed; I tried....

I carry a 220 Carry. That's from the department of redundancy department. Bianchi Hip holster; works well in months where I have a sweatshirt, etc. During the summer it's a smaller pistol. The 220 Carry is probably my favorite to shoot of them all though. I personally wouldn't want one any larger. It's the largest pistol I carry.

Why not try an aluminum frame 1911 in 4" bbl, officer frame. Reliable, accurate, light, thin. Or Springfield Xds. I've worn a steel frame 4" 1911 compact for 10 hours a day. Takes a great belt and great holster. 5.11 belt and el paso holster made all the difference in the world. P220 would seem to be better for open carry or under winter coats imo.

I have the carry model and my experience is that it is a nice, fine shooting pistol. It is accurate and easy to shoot (especially having the short barrel) with good ergonomics.

My observations for a carry weapon is:

It really is a full sized weapon, the shorter slide/barrel does not make it easier to carry, just a little lighter.

Magazine capacity is restricted, like any other single stack .45 caliber.

My model is the DA/SA and while is not a problem for me, some have problems with the heavier action DA trigger pull.

I would use it as a carry weapon if I had to, but I don't and don't (due to the magazine capacity.) As always, YMMV.
