I've only seen a couple threads on here about the Sig 522s. Planned on getting a Standard, but the local dealer made a deal on the SWAT model that was 20 bucks over my budget. Couldn't say no. It has a simple Bushnell 1x28 Trophy (6 MOA Dot) on top. Indoor range ran to 25 yards. Most of the shooting was inside 15. Only had one fail to feed, but that was operator error and on the first mag I put through it. I tried to trip it up, and dumped the full 25 rounds through about as fast as I could, but couldn't manage to do so. Neither could the 2 of my friends that shot it as well. This was using WalMart bulk el cheapo Federal 36 grain copper plated rounds, and putting around 200-250 through in a 2 hour span. Gonna get a Magpul AFG on it and MBUS on it next. It's shaping up to be one fun-a$$ toy.

25 rounds at 20 yards. Its not long range, but damn is it cheap to shoot, (therefore, fun)

Disregard those outliers at the 11 and 3 to 5 o'clock. Those were destined for other targets on the paper.

Ive read just about every thread I could find since im fixing to buy one.. alot of 556 parts are being swapped over i.e fishgill handguards, sights (with modifications), ive even seen a stock mod, and a pistol grip. I will see if i can dig up my links..
believe it or not alot of people ive seen modding are using parts off of AEG airsoft guns

Took it out yesterday and put a few hundred rounds out with it. I was able to trip it up once, maybe twice? (But I was getting rather zealous with trigger pulls.

) A couple fail to feeds happened when other shooters were too gentle with letting the charging handle go to chamber the first round. I could not be happier with it. Running one magazine between 3 or 4 people is getting to be a pain in the a$$ now though...

A dude out there had a low-drag AR and SOCOM-16 riding in a Sage EBR Chassis...he walked down there and thought the Sig looked rather cool too

This might be a solution - Black Dog 50 round drum

    Re: Sig Sauer 522 SWAT

I have shot over 1k rounds of remington gold bulk with no problems other than a few that didn't fire when struck. The gold bulk is the nastiest I have shoot, and couldn't believe it didn't have a problem. I have seen several other ar 22's have alot of problems. Sure glad I decided on the sig

Double Diamond Law Enforcement Supply offers their AR-buffer tube assembly adapter for the 522. I realize, dimensionally speaking, buttstocks for AR's and the Sig are different. I'm just curious if it would improve cheekweld any (raising it more in line with the top rail) on AR-ready stocks versus the Sig factory piece. I want to put a low magnification optic on top for more fun at 100 yards, and I'm leaning towards a Magpul MOE plus a riser piece if necessary. Any knowledge to share on this??

I just ordered a green standard model of one of these. Most of what I read looked good and should be a lot of fun. Still looking into aftermarket accessories for it.

I got mine today, green stock model. It came with the standard forend and it also came with 3 rail segments that can be added. One for each side and one that is sloped to fit on the bottom too.

Seems like a really well made gun to me and a lot of fun too. I'm not saying that the S+W MP22 is a bad gun at all but I feel like it's a better deal.
