Rifle Scopes Sig Sauer Tango6 LevelPlex doesn't align with reticle - Anyone else have this issue?

Hey all. I recently purchased a *used* Sig Tango6 4-24 w/ DEVL reticle and LevelPlex. While installing it I noticed that the LevelPlex does not correspond to the reticle correctly. By this I mean that when the LevelPlex says the scope is level, the reticle is actually canted to the left. The funny thing is the LevelPlex does align with a simple bubble level placed on the top turret when aligning, so it seems to me the reticle is what's off and not the LevelPlex. Is this a known issue? Is anyone else experiencing this or have heard of it? It's my first Sig scope and am also interested in anyone's experience with their customer service. Thanks.

How did you verify your reticle is canted?

If you hung a target with a level did you use at least a 2' level, and did you check that your level is still good (should read to the same spot when placed on either edge or flipped end to end. If the bubble moves back and forth the vial isn't square to the body) ?

I helped a guy one day, his level he was hanging his target with was off by a good 5*, and it was a $3 9" torpedo that wasn't capable of accuracy across a 3' target anyways. Pulled a 4' out of my truck and got him squared up.

Ok so let me provide context by saying I’m still new to the precision rifle world and wasn’t measuring based off a target at the range that I leveled but rather by just looking through the scope while installing the scope on a gun vise at home. But when I say canted I don’t mean by a few degrees, it is very obviously canted to the left. Eyeballing it I’d say it’s canted by as many as 15-20 degrees. I’m using the Wheeler scope level kit to install (let me know if there are better options out there).

i hAve two of these scopes. According to bryan litz, you must trust but always verify yourself. This thread raises a lot of question and a plumb bob is the answer!

I’ll get to the range this weekend with a plumb bob to verify it’s actually canted. If it still seems off then I’ll be contacting Sig’s customer service. Whatever the outcome, if it’s actually canted or if I’m just a fudd that doesn’t know what he’s doing, I’ll report back here so everyone knows.

Good call on the plumb bob. Levels on turrets and parts of the rifle and such don’t work.

The only thing that works is a level to the reticle.

I’ve dealt with Sig customer service twice and it has always left me feeling satisfied.

I had this exact problem I sent the scope back to Sig and they recalibrated it. I think I had it back within a week.

So I tested against a plumb bob at home. It was just down the hallway so about 25 yards and it still presents canted. Is there a a minimum range I should be testing against?

I don't think so, gravity is the same at all relevant ranges.
