Has anyone swapped out the factory [new - or McM] stock on their SSG 3000 for a replacement? If so, what did you go with and why?

I have an SSG 3000 and think the stock is "ok" but not great. I have a Plasner on my Savage 10 FP that I really like but don't believe it can handle the SSG 3000.

Thanks in advance.....

Last I checked you didn't have a lot of options on the SSG 3000. It's either McMillan or factory and that's it. Nobody else is/was inletting for the SSG action.

As to give the OP a real answer.

There is more then one aftermarket stock for the SSG 3000 / 200 TR, and yes the receivers are identical, with exception of a intergal Picatinny rail.
The McMillan SSG 3000 stock is probably the one of highest quality though.
GRS stocks, kelby imports them, have 3 models that can be inletted for the 200 STR.
Have just used the Long range model, but it's a very comfortable and solid stock, should have it bedded though if you buy one.
KKC makes decent stocks for the 200.

The original Sauer 200 TR laminate stock, or the original SSG 3000 black laminate stock.
Bredvold makes a stock for the Sauer, never tried it, but he makes stocks for the worlds best biathlon teams, so he does turn out a good product.

Roedale was working on a version once, don't know the outcome.
And sig had a chassis for it 2 years ago, not seen it since, so suspect it's not being produced.
And if you can find any Scandinavian stock makes they generally makes stocks for the Sig/ Sauer.
