Took charger out for first time.
Aimpoint duty in a 1.53 tall mount.
Hv ammo(1235)
I plan to use cci sv though but didn’t have any.
Hitting 1.5-2 in low at 25 yards with my elevation maxed.
Should I get the 1.94 high mount,a diff pic rail with moa built in or just zero at longer distance and live with it?

@Coopsdaddy

Some 10/22s suffer from barrel droop, even without a suppressor. Shimming the barrel/receiver interface can help, as can proper bedding. Our 10/22s all required some effort to combat barrel droop even with the thin factory barrels.

Our 22s are all zeroed at 50 yards. A couple have shims and bedding the rail to get the optic to zero. A rail with significant MOA offset is the easy button. I ended up putting a 40 MOA rail on my Savage MK2 because it’s not easy to make other mods. The 10/22 is much more modular.

Hope this helps

That would make it worse?
No. Adding a rail would raise the ass of the optic up. Nose down. He would be then looking down towards the ground now if nothing else changed.

So now he has to tilts the gun back upward to look at the bullseye. Making the barrel point over the target now.

This mechanically forces him to dial down to get onto target. Gaining back useable travel.

Originally, he was topped out. If he had been bottomed out originally...a canted rail would not have helped.

OP, your problem, pure and simple, is you have a red-dot sight reticle centered way forward on the rail and... what, 3+ inches over the bore? You'll do FAR better to sight in at 50.

Better still, cut about 1.0" - 1.5" off the mount height and move the whole thing to the back of the pic rail.

I run 2.26"+ on my .22 ARs and just as far forward as the OP, no problems with 25yd zero on several different red dots.
There's a tolerance stacking issue somewhere and I'd start with addressing any barrel droop as mentioned in post #3.
@Coopsdaddy, was the barrel a thermal fit or did it slip right in?

I got a Charger and stuck a SIG Romeo 5 right down on top of it. Lines up just fine at 25 yards.

As for whether this is an SBR, the way the ATF is waffling, it looks like it was an SBR last week but not today.
