Hunting & Fishing Sighting in Varmint Scope with 7mm WSM

I need some help sighting in my 7mm wsm with 140 grain Federal nosler ballistic tips with my Leupold VX-3L 6.5-20x56mm that has the varmint hunter reticle. Im indecisive at the zero yardage and how to gauge the yardage in 100 yard increments from the zero. The rifle is a winchester model 70. Sorry for all the information but I figured the more the merrier when asking questions. Im new to the forum and appreciate any input/help anyone gives. First rifle im wanting to be able to shoot 500+ yards if possible.
