Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has some experience with either of these scopes? I've read great reviews of the other Sightron SIII scopes, but Scott at Liberty Optics mentioned that the 20x42 model is rather dim compared to the others.

Its a tough comparison between the a fixed and variable power. Consider the Sightron SIII 6-24. I have it and love it. Very good glass and tracks well, 100 MOA of adjustment too. I can not speak for the Zeiss other than they have a great track record.

While I haven't owned the fixed 20x42, I do own a couple of 3.5-10s and a 6-24x50 SIII. I've also owned a Conquest 6.5-20, and I think the SIII is a better deal for the money. The Conquest isn't bad, but its a 1" scope with nowhere near the amount of travel found in the SIIIs. Don't get me wrong, the Conquest is a great scope, with very good glass. However, the SIII glass is just as good, with better turrets and more internal travel (and cheaper, too).

The Zeiss Conquest 6-20X50 IS the BEST 1" Tactical scope made..
The Sightron L 6-24X50 is a very competitive scope with the only advantage of 30mm tube for internal travel. A 20MOA base will alough you to shoot further then most people skills will let them. These are both very good scopes, and if you were to give me one for free I would take the Zeiss..bshooter..

I forgot to mention this in the previous post, but another advantage I found with the Sightron is the eye relief.
