I just purchased a Daniel Defense MK18 and am looking to run it suppressed. I would say I will probably run it suppressed 90-100% of the time. I will probably not be switching it between other 5.56 platforms.

I have been thinking of Surefire 556-RC, Surefire 556-Mini or Griffin Armament Recce 5. I would prefer to keep the overall length to minimum but I also would like the best suppression I can get while maintaining that goal. Does anyone have similar setups with these suppressors that can offer some insight? Is there another choice maybe I am overlooking that better serves this purpose?

Thanks.

I plan to shoot a DD MK18 with SpecWar 556 against a DD MK18 with a Surefire SOCOM 556 RC in the next few weeks. The MK18 with the SpecWar 556 is my demo 556 and it is quite quiet. The other MK18 setup is a customer's gun and Surefire can, both awaiting ATF transfer approval. We both want to see how they compare. When we test these, I will post our thoughts.

I have an LMT Mk18 and a SF Mini mounted on a MB556k. I've run it hard and it has been an excellent setup. It's not as quiet as a full size can, but acceptable w/o ear pro. I like the balance of the Mini and gas blowback seems to be less than with a full size can.

That would be great! I'm very interested to hear about your results.

For those that recommended the Specwar...do you know if it is full auto rated? I don't have a full auto but one of the hosts will have a tac-con trigger which is capable of 650 rpm. Mag dumps would not be an overly common occurrence...
