Has anyone shot a lot of .22 LR through their Octane .45? If so how easy was it to clean and how many .22 LR rounds have you shot through the Octane?

Is there any problem with shooting .22 LR in the Octane and then switching to 9 mm or 300 blackout without cleaning the suppressor first?

The Octane 45 seems like just a larger copy of the Spectre II. The baffle design seems the same except for the obvious diameter difference. I read one post where it was not recommended to use .22 LR extensively in the Octane 45, but I was wondering if that was just to sell more .22 LR specific suppressors.

I would suggest not doing it,your octane is gonna fill up with lead. They are not trying to get you to buy a 22 can. Shooting 22 through it will just clog it up. You will have to take it apart and clean it before you shoot 45 through it just to be on the safe side.

I get about 1k-1.5k from my Silencerco Sparrow before I need to clean it. It get's pretty nasty too. I do have a Octane 45 sitting in my dealers safe that will see a lot of 22LR along with 9mm (hopefully before the end of the year). It is the same baffle design as the Spectra II so it is user serviceable. Check out this great review on it:

Unless the main channel was obstructed by crud, I don't see why you would need to clean it going from .22LR to 9mm or .45ACP. Then again I like to play with my toys, not clean them.

Information off the interwebz is worth exactly what you pay for it, so perhaps contact SilencerCo directly and remove all doubt:

You may wish to check with them to find out if you need to clean / service the can before you shoot 45 anything else from it as the Spectre II comes with a warning to clean before shooting 5.7 from it. That same logic may apply towards the Octane, but I would ask the source who will be warranting your can should something go wrong as they do advise against it.

Second off, why even bother putting that can on a 22? 22 cans are cheap and you'll definitely want at minimum one of them, plus they are much smaller and are designed with 22 in mind.
