Simply not good....

Re: Simply not good....

Major American gun companies no longer make a quality product, and we must slum to the American custom gun market to receive a quality product.

Ah well, the custom gun market is run by SBCs with True American Values, and I respect that, and therefore that is where my money is sent. Remington was the last to go, but it is gone.

I saw a collection of books in the store the other day, it was "The Premier American Gun Companies", with single volumes on each of the following; Browning, Colt, Remington, and Winchester. Sadly, I laughed dishearteningly because of the fact that none of these companies are American and/or Premier anymore.

Re: Simply not good....

shit! more corporate executive greed, he will surely make changes and end up leaving with a huge golden package and many millions, just to hook up with yet another company and do it again. not good for Remmington and us end users in my mind!

Re: Simply not good....

After this, the only thing left for him to screw up will be the Lord's Prayer.

Simply because, everything else will have been bastardized, there isn't much left. But hey, at least we're all free, right?

Re: Simply not good....

The man is a gonnorhea-ridden pus-spewing donkey cock wearing a suit and tie to give him an air of respectability.

He almost killed The Home Depot by cutting personnel at the store level and buying the cheapest crap he could to put on the shelves while he and his favored few enjoyed catered lunches in his top floor office EVERY DAY. Once his ass got kicked to the curb and Frank Blake took over, the entire culture of Home Depot changed for the better. More made in USA goods (many local made stuff where it is practical) and a focus on customers first. All Nardelli cared about was what some bean-counting pencil-pushing cocksucker told him would fatten his bonus. Doesn't give two shits for the employees or customers.

If y'all don't want Remington to go down the toilet, better start a letter-writing campaign and boycott right now...and I'm not even trying to be funny. I worked under this prick for a couple years and he WILL run the company to ruin and waddle away with a fat bankroll without even a lick of remorse.

Re: Simply not good....

Noah mercy you are dead on! My father worked fo home depot for 20 years, 15 of which as a regional trainer. He watched them push out all the seasoned proffesional full timers and replace them with part timers who knew next to knothing and cared even less than that. Tey eliminated 2500 trainers via conference call to cut labor. Thisisthe only major company I ever heard of go entire quaters without ordering product to stock the stores simply to over inflate the bottom line.

You think its hard some times to get parts or service now in this industry, just wait till this prick sets the new standard for doing buisness in the industry.

As much asi despie this guy I can't completely fault him. We created the system andallow it to continue andhe has found the easiest wa to exploit it. In the era of day trading andshortterm investing creating a company that can standup to generations is just more work than it warrants and the ROI on doing business the right way simply isn't needed when the short term win fall for these guys in stock options isso easy to get.
But I agree, if we like the idea of remington and let's be honest all its smaller names as well, start writing now and get ever forum your apart of talking about it.

Towards the end of his career at homedepot this guy, when ever entering one of his storesfr publicity came with afull security detail because they were convinced an employee was ging to try to kill him, and they were probaly smart to do that. I've worked for some major companies before ad met many CEO's, never once did they com in and d a securty sweep.

Re: Simply not good....

In the end $500 will get you a REmington but $3000 will get a Surgeon or similiar brand - PROFESSIONALLY made...

Remington will only cater to wal-mart buyers, occasional shooters - I'm afraid any future accuracy will be from a different brand.

WInchester is looking pretty good though...

And look what happened at Winchester!

The history of all the great American gun manufacturers is rife with stories of idiotic product lines, cost cutting measures, buy outs, bankruptcies, and other company threatening, or killing, developments.

I hope Big Green survives this.
