Single Point Slings--Bungee or Strap

I’m looking for a single point sling. Lots of great ones out there. I understand most of the differences, but need your expertise on one option.

What is the advantage or purpose of slings with bungee cords?

Bungee cord ones seem to bounce around to much for me. A good, heavy, wide sling does it for me.

Bungee is a gimmic. You'll end up slingshotting the rifle into your chin. Take my word for it.

The only single point I have is a bungee style. It sucks. I can't stand the bouncing around. I went to a two point sling.

I have a bungee style single-point sling on my work carbine. The bungee comes in handy (for me.. I know some have other opinions) during transition to sidearm.

Two point is the only way to go if you actually plan to move or run with your rifle slung. Running with a single point will require one hadn to remain on the rifle to keep from needing to wear a cup.

I do enjoy a single point during a class when I am standing on the line and they tell you to "safe and hang"

I've been using the Vickers slings. Its adjustable for doing transitions and you don't have the long tail left over like the Viking Tactics sling does.

Single point sling seem to be ok if you are working in and out of vehicles mostly. The bad thing is when you go to transition to a sidearm the rifle just falls right in front of you. You can't swing it out of the way like a 2 point sling.

I have a savvy sniper single/dual sling; it has a bungee in it. My only dislike is that I wish the sling itself was a little wider. i find that it doesn't bounce around to much with the bungee in it, i just feel that if i had a wider footprint.. esp when i run it as a two point i would have a little more of a footprint across my body. It also; like the vickers,has a slide on the sling to lengthen and retract the sling without the mess of extra material hanging around. I do believe that since the bungee isn't the entire sling that it may add some benefit rather then some slings being an entire bungee.

I have a really slick single point sling that hooks into my gear so I never get tangled up in it... the only thing I don't like about it... the bungee!

I had, underline had, a single point sling and every time I walked or ran with it you either had to have a hand on it or you end up hitting something on your body which in my case happened to be my knees. I personally like the Vikings Tactics Two point slings. I find them to be the most comfortable and ease of use.

I just changed from a straight single point to one of the savy sniper single points. I am having issues with transition from right hand to left hand shooting on my work carbine. The bungie cord give me that little extra that is needed, if not the q.d. set up they have works nice and I can just detatch the carbine from the sling. It works for me.
