Sixth HardRock Match of 2013

Good day,

The match will be on Saturday, July 27th. New shooters should make plans to attend the practice day on Friday, June 26th. The match is held rain or shine unless the civil authorities close the roads. Safety meeting is at 0800, match will start @ 0830. All times CST.

Pre-registration is available to those who shot at least three of the six matches for the .308 and ATG classes, and is required if you are shooting in the first .223 class relays. Pre-registration opens with this announcement. Send a PM or email with the class(es) you will shoot, the cartridge for the rifle in each class, if anyone else will be using the same rifle, and if a brake or can is installed on the rifle. While we wish to encourage folks to pre-register, you will be on the Range Masters and my SL if you pre-register, don't attend the match, and fail to cancel your registration with a PX by 1800 on practice day. You don't want to go there. My PX is on the schedule, I don't have net access after 1800 on Thursdays.

The short version of the COF and rules is: 5 rounds at each 600, 800, 900 and 1k target with a 1 MOA 10 point bullseye and a 2 MOA 5 point scoring ring in 20 minutes. No sighters, no wind flags, and you have ring steel with at least one of your first five shots. Three classes, .223, .308, and AnyThing Goes.

Good day,

Due to the wet weather, we'll have procedural changes for the practice and match on 7/27/13. The field is too wet to stand having the truck on it without digging ruts. Therefore, we'll do the following:

1. The rhino with painters and someone with a camera will go down range to paint and photograph the targets.

2. The shooters will review the results of the photographs and present any questions to the cameraman/Bill before the next relay goes down.

3. Absolutely no driving through the hay and the field. Keep all vehicles on the travel lane and parking area at all times. If you have to take down your shelter to stay in the parking area and get out, take your shelter down.

Reports say the county road is good, the HR road has some slick spots but folks got in with a 2 wheel drive truck.

Good day,

Match results sent about 2045 CDT. Thanks to everyone's patience with the procedural changes and we hope everyone enjoyed the great shooting weather. Directions for obtaining the photographs included with the match email. One new person added to the mailing list.

If you or one of your shooting buddies doesn't receive the email within 24 hours, please provide a name and email address via PM. I had three or four folks say they didn't get the last set of results. I do check these reports against my mailing list and they help me find any errors.
