How do you resize your .300wm?

Do you neck size, bump the shoulder, or FL size?

I realize that the .300WM head spaces on the belt, but I read a couple times that you can size them to head space on the shoulder just like any other bottleneck cartridge.

Just wondering what I am getting into if I got the .300WM route.

Re: Sizing .300WM?

I used to just neck size only, but found that I had some chambering issues. The case after 3 -4 reload expands slightly just above the belt makes it impossible to chamber. Even with FL resize, I still encountered that problem. Got one of those collet die from Larry Willis. Now, I FL resize it. If it doesn't fit the case gauge, I also run it through the collet die. Never have problem with chambering again.

Re: Sizing .300WM?

FWIW, I use a Redding S-Type FL die (to minimize neck working) with a carbide ball and set it to slightly bump the shoulder so it still headspaces on the belt. If it doesn't freely drop in the gage on Larry Wills' collet die it gets a pass through it till it does. Zero issues to date.

Re: Sizing .300WM?

Neck, bump the shoulder back .001" and use the IT die every 3 reloads to hit the spot above the belt the dies don't reach.

I think the next rifle after the AR10 is done is going to be a 700P in .300WM. Somewhere down the line I will drop it in a AICS 2.0 and have a stupid heavy beast until I scrape up cash for a .338LM custom build. </div></div>

I'm sure you found what your looking for by now but here is the link
