Sling stud adhesive

Re: Sling stud adhesive

All depends on stock construction.

If its a coarse (wood screw type) thread stud that just threads into the fiberglass, I use the the "Super T Hot Stuff" adhesive from Brownells.

I have repaired several this way for people & as long as they aren't stripped out completely, the Super T will keep 'em in there......permanently.

If its a machine screw stud, use Red Loc-Tite. It'll come loose with heat if it does have to be removed in the future. Note- heat the head of the swivel stud only for a few seconds and let it set a minute or two. The heat will transfer thru the shank and you can back it out.

If you want to lock a machine thread stud in "for good", use the Green Sleeve Locking Loc-Tite. Word of caution, if you ever have to remove the swivel stud, you'll have to drill it out.
