I have a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 on my AR. I was recently out with my baby brother shooting this rifle. This particular scope uses brass shims as a zero stop. While I was getting everything setup to shoot, apparently he decided to start spinning the turrets. He said he turned the turret to the left (lowering bullet impact) it got tuff to turn so he went back the other way and it wouldn't click anymore. When you move the elevation knob now it just spins. Not freely as if the turret caps are loose but a smooth steady spin when pressure is applied. I'm guessing this is what I've heard called a slipped turret. How I can get the elevation knob back to tracking right and giving "clicks" when adjusted? I'm sure there is a simple fix but this is the first scope like this I have ever had. Got any advice....besides not letting my brother play with my scopes again.

I had this happen with my PST. Try spinning to back to the zero and applying a bit of torque (hand tight) and see if it starts clicking. If so, either they forgot the loctite, or your brother hit the high stop and kept cranking, loosening the entire assembly.

Either way, call Vortex.
