I bought a TPS picatinny base for my Savage 10FP and a set of the TPS picatinny TSR rings. My question is: How much slop (for lack of a better word) should there be when I put the rings on the base. I can move the rings forward and backward quite a bit when I put them on. I was hoping it would be a tighter fit but since I'm a newbie thought I'd ask the experts. Is this noraml? If this is normal, should I push the rings toward the front of the rifle or toward the back before I tighten them? Both base item(20302) and rings item(320300) are alloy steel if this helps.
