Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Also if we've already paid for a yearly subscription and are getting our 4 targets. Would it be ok to shoot two of them for the rimfire and just mark them rimfire? So I could be entered in both? Or is that a no no? Thanks

Ben, that is fine, or since I have not sent them out yet, just tell me you want 2 each instead of 4CF and I will make the change and it will carry thru winter.

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Well, I took my Andrea out shooting again this weekend. We have been working on cooking up some loads for her. I have to say, I am really impressed by her hard work on getting her shooting down pat.

She is getting to be a monster about the Smiley shooting!! LOL. I absolutely love the grin she gets on her face when she hits what she is aiming at...
wink.gif
Her grin almost is as big as mine!!

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Well, as things always seem to happen, they did yet again. At some point in time, it seems as if I have dropped my rifle and bent my muzzle brake. Went out to shoot the thing, and all my rounds were getting strikes. OUCH!!

Anyways, we ended up shooting my fiance's Trophy Hunter. Not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but not great either.

Rimfire was about as I figured it would be, so no news there. So, with that said... lottery tickets will be in the mail shortly.

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

I took my fiance out again this weekend to do some shooting, since I got my Predator back from the gunsmith. We fired a few rounds to get sighted in... and then it happened.

First shot from doing my bore sighting method, 3 inches high, 1-1/4" left. Read the mils of the Vortex, adjusted, and whooped the snot out of the bullseye. Setting the stage here...

We do some practicing back and forth with the rifle, and finally decide to shoot "for real". JC, this is just to make you feel better... Andrea put the hurt on me "BIG TIME"!!

She beat me by 1/4" on CBS circle, and actually hit her Smiley. I missed my Smiley, and almost hit outside the circle. 5 ring, we were pretty close to each other. 10 ring, I actually hit my Smiley, she didn't. 25 ring, she hit, I didn't. 30 ring, we both missed. 40/50 ring, we both hit our Smiley, but hers was almost a wipe-out. 3 shot group... mine was a .878... hers, was a very impressive .493.

NO, I DIDN'T TAKE ANY DAMN PICTURES!!!!!! It was all done with practice targets anyways. At least, that is what I am stickin with.

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Finally shot my targets, now in the mail. I don't think I'll let my girlfriend shoot with me, my fragile ego might not be able to handle the whoopin

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

My CF sucked... again. Just got my rifle back from the shop in time to shoot, but the rust has collected on me for CF. After another day of shooting, I was already shooting much better.

My RF was pretty good. I just need a better formula for CF.

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Hey CM, LOL, thanks brother,

She is turing into quite the shooter. Has ice cold veins and a consistant trigger finger.

Funny because my dad is absoluetly horrible!! and bro is medicore at best. But to be fair, they dont have quite the equipment we use. And I pretty much only share with her!!

She gets to rub it in out here on the ranch quite often.

I want to do another video like I did last year, that was fun, and actually shows people how much fun it is.

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

This thread seems to be really quiet. Especially considering how many shooters we have turn out for this match. Any ideas??

Just curious...

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

That is some crazy good shooting!!!

Thanks for running the show Jason! This is a tuff challenge! Now, what rifle am I going to use on the next one...

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Yes, I have to admit it, since the numbers speak for themselves. Andrea beat me in both the centerfire and rimfire catagories. We used her rifle for the centerfire since my muzzle brake was trashed, and we used my 22 for the rimfire.

JC, like I said, this one is for you and yours. I know how you feel brother!!

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

Congrats to all the shooters and prize winners!! Again, this match is getting more and more tough to compete in. The bar continues to be held really high, and you have to definitely be on your game to have a chance for any of the top spots.

Hopefully, things will settle down and I will get back in there soon. The gap between my standings and the top is getting to me!!

"Smack The Smiley" ... Funny name, serious competition!!

DK

p.s. - Again, thanks to you JB for all your hard work. And yet again, thanks to all the great sponsors that make all of this happen... it is all greatly appreciated!!

Re: Smack the SMILEY - FALL 2012 - ENTRY OPEN!

252 pts got me second place in rimfire last go round, and now this go round, 268 gets me third. Tough competition.

Congrats to the Vibberts for cleaning up... 1,2 on RF and 3,4 on CF. Impressive! And of course, congrats to matchking for taking down another CF match. I am humbled.

Thanks for putting this on Jason! And many thanks to our sponsors. And of course, the snipers.
