smallest handguard.?

Re: smallest handguard.?

I dont think of anything smaller than a 7" but I have seen guys cut down the VTAC (FF) handguards down real short.
If its done right you cant even tell it was cut, looks stock.

Re: smallest handguard.?

YHM has a ton of short freefloats for AR-15 pistols. They are much more affordable.

Re: smallest handguard.?

Bear in mind if you decide to use a pistol length handguard on a rifle barrel with a carbine, midlength, or rifle gas port position you will have a healthy amount of exposed gas tube running down your barrel, not to mention less surface area to hold onto when shooting...furthermore a lot of these aluminum ff tubes help dissipate the heat from the barrel nut by transferring it to the rail system...more rail means a bigger heat sink.
