Not sure where to put this post but I'm sure there's lots of people on here with creepy crawler experience.

This little guy showed up Sunday AM during our little practice session(actually we were the uninvited guests in his house). Im a So Nev native and this is my first time seeing a snake like this.

-About 18" in length 3/4"diameter
-Imitated a rattler by shaking its tail, but had no rattles.
-Aggressive, came after me and coiled to strike while taking pictures(from a safe distance JIK)
-Its head was shaped or could be changed to look triangular or that of a viper.

Ive seen our western diamond backs, Mojave greens and even a gopher snake, but never this guy... We didn't kill it, we just left him alone to do his thing.

A shotgun and 100 shells would be about right...

NOT enough shells (100). Two gallons gasoline about right..

Re: Snake ID?

Cal King, my favorite snake. They do kill and eat ratlelrs, as well as other snakes. Rare for them to be so aggressive, have to wonder of something pissed him off before you found him.

Ive watched them in captivity kill eat a rattler, very interesting. They strike it right on the head and then wrap it up up and seem to stretch it out until it dies.

Put several pounds of Tannerite with your two gallons of gasoline then you would have the perfect fix.
