Haven't been out shooting much, after the RO class a couple years ago I sorta lost interest in stuff at the local 100 yard ranges. A little driving got me to some BLM land where I managed to setup my 10" steel target at 550 yards. Took me 3 shots to get on target with the wind but after that I was pretty consistent both prone and sitting with the shooting sticks. I realize that it's only 2 MOA shooting needed but who cares, it was fun!

Next up I need to get taller sticks so I can see if I can do some standing shots, or put the sling back on there and see if I can remember how that all works.

What problems were you having with wind? Or did you just not know your correct dope? I see you have a Kestrel there. We're you having mixed cross winds?

Good shooting, i'm eager to shoot mine as well.

Got my bracket ready to go and my IPSC 30x18 (probably a little too big but what the hell) damn weather has made it hard for me to get around to shooting it. I'd have to drive out in the fields on the farm to set it up and it's been raining so much down here. Couple that with the fact we have a lot of buckshot man it's a mess.

Wind at the rifle was under 1 mph when I started but I had to hold almost .75 mils to get on target. Eventually the wind at my position got to 5-8 mph but the hold didn't change. Dope was OK, but my reading of the wind down range was suspect.
