Bought new from LMT with my new rifle, only mounted to my new LMT MWS, tried & tested functions, set on carpet, couch, and a cardboard box to take pictures of the rifle setup, then place the rifle with bipod mounted in its plastic bag and stored in it’s shipping box STILL waiting for me to buy glass for it. Never used for any dry fire practice or placed on any rough or dirty surface. Replacing it with a new Atlas CAL, since researching/reading here in forums that the CAL is superior to the Harris for precision LR. Purchased for $290-, will sell for $175- (will include priority USPS or UPS shipping, your choice, for that price)
Sorry this has so much writing but I want the buyer, no matter how knowledgeable or not to know about these Bipods BOTH as a comparison...full disclosure so to speak, I want to give a good value, I think.
Including pics of the LMT Harris compared to the Atlas CAL. The LMT has a MASSIVELY bigger self centering spring loaded canting quick disconnect adapter than the CAL does by far, super sturdy (I sort of like it better than the smaller one on the CAL though the CAL is still well made, but the LMT is a tank mechanism). And I did not see this connector in the Harris selections available on their site. If I remember right LMT told me it was “their” designed part, relatively large one piece affair that incorporates the locking stem into it together. The CAL is some wider and taller (both collapsed & extended) as evidenced in the pics.
It has the LMT logo engraved in the QD front. Has notched legs. The CAL has more leg positions 0, 45, 90, 135, & 180 degree. The Harris only 0 & 90...up (facing toward) or down. The LMT appears more “abuse worthy”, somewhat, but that’s just my thoughts. AS NEW ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.
Remember... the bipod with the SPRINGS is the LMT Harris Bipod...it has lockable “Cant” side to side but does not “Pan” left or right. First PM confirm takes it and as if needed even more pics available ??.
