IOR - VALDADA RECON 4-28x50mm Target or Hunting! Really hate to sell this one because it works so well but not letting it collect dust for 12 more years until I draw a tag to get to a place that I can actually use all this power. Also good for bench shooting to see bullet impact locations.
Info link, I think this is same one: http://www.valdada.com/4-28x50-40mm-recon-tactical-ffp-mil-mil-xtreme-x1-illum-reticle/
IOR - VALDADA RECON 4-28x50mm for Target and/or Hunting! Perfect for Elk hunting! This has more field of view on 4 power than my Leupold MK6 has on 3 power because of it’s 40mm tube! This is a big deal, because I like to use my gear for hunting, and since 90% or more of the game kills are inside of 300 yards there is a good chance I may jump something worth shooting on my way to a good long range position. So, I want a scope that can have a field of view and crosshairs so that I can shoot something close or far. This is it! I have or have owned S&B, Hensoldt, NightForce, Leupold, Zeiss, USO, Vortex, etc. and this RECON seems to be the best for both hunting (close & far) as well as target shooting. Many of these other scopes are awesome at what they do but I could not find any of them to be great at both. I especially could not find any of them to having a reticle wide enough on low power to shooting something that may be 40 yards away running through the brush, but the IOR Recon 4-28 does! They all have the long range capability this IOR RECON having the best at 28x power!
Another big plus is your like me and use readers, these turrets and numbers are big enough you can see them without the readers.
It is like carrying your own spotting scope with you on the hunt, nothing better than saving wait and having this scope that can do both. Only reason I am selling it is because I have too many great items in my collection and need sell some to accommodate new items and down size about 10 rifles & 5 scopes. I used this scope on my 338LM Elk rifle this past fall and took a 5pt bull at 650 yards with it in the Rocky Mountains. This comes with Sun Shade & Rings and bubble level as depicted in the picture, painted nice camo, see picture below from my shooting position when taking the Elk, the color really blends into the Rocky Mt. landscape well. It has been to the range a few times to sight in and on the one day hunting trip since I took the bull the first day, I am the second owener, 1st owner had it on a safe queen and sold it with the rifle to me. You can also order BDC Turret rings in 223/308/338LM/50BMG so you know it can easily handle the recoil.
Mount is special, not the normal 0 MOA but it has 25 MOA and a bubble level and an additional bubble level mounted on the scope tube.
Rex IOR RECON Review:
From Valdata website: $3,295.00 The new 4-28x50 40mm Tactical scope, is the finest riflescope ever built. It is loaded with great features: -finest HD low dispersion glass Schott Glassworks, Germany has to offer -broad band fully multicoating MC-7 IOR technology -optical clarity and brightness that will allow the shooter to see details never before seen -40mm tube dramatically reduces the whip and vibration effects associated with large magnum calibers -35 mil (aprox 125 MOA) of vertical adjustment, along with rock solid internal mechanisms, make this scope an ideal choice for .338 Lapua, 408 Cheytac, .50 BMG and other Magnum calibers -new parallax adjustment system will allow the scope to focus as close as 21 feet @ 28x power. -compact size (total scope lenght is only 14 inch) which is very Compact.
Field of View: This is another area this unit shines giving 34ft field of view on 4 pw at 100 yards. So on 4 power this scope actually gives about the same field of view (because of its 40mm tube) as a 34mm tube Leupold Mk6 3-18x44 with 36.8ft at 100 yards. So it is really closer to everyone elses 3 power with 34 tubes. They are pretty close but this one the 3-18 doesn't go up to 28 power (spotter while hunting).
TECHNICAL FEATURES:
MAGNIFICATION: 4x-28x, OBJECTIVE SIZE: 50mm, FIELD OF VIEW (100 YDS.) 38 Ft. to 6 Ft., EXIT PUPIL: 1.7- 12.5 mm, EYE RELIEF: 3.85 INCH, DIOPTRICAL ADJUSTMENT: -3 TO +3 DPT., RETICLE-TOTAL ADJUSTMENT RANGE: 36 MRAD @ 100 YDS., CLICK VALUE: 0.1 MRAD @ 100 YDS., TUBE DIAMETER: 40 MM, LENGTH: 14 INCH, WEIGHT: 39 OZ. Such a great short scope for hunting, does it give up a bit in weight..yes… but for 4-28 power and saving the weight not having to pack a spotting scope or high power binoculars it’s worth it.
