Rifle Scopes SOLD: Mount for Nightforce NX8 1-8 Questions

I just purchased a Nightforce NX8 1-18 for one of my newer ARs, a BCM RECCE configuration. I have a couple questions:

1) What's the current wisdom on a QD mount over bolt on mounts for a LPVO?

2) I've become a big fan of higher mounts for LPVOs, really helps my heads-up shooting with one.

Given the relatively small footprint of the NX8 1-8, what mounts would you guys suggest that will fit this one, either fixed or QD?

I prefer the scalarworks leap, its compact, lite and strong. QD but no obtrusive levers, yes a bit pricey but....

Yes, I use the SCALAR fixed sights on some of my ARs, and one of their high mounts for the Aimpoint COMP5 on my CQB AR.

Badger Ordnance C1 mount and Scalarworks Leap are my favorite mounts. Can’t go wrong with either one

I was just concerned about the fitment given the NX8 smaller size compared to other LPVOs out there.

We typically pair with a Geissele SOPMOD mount in black. Pretty sure we have them in stock. Too bad you did not hit us for scope, as we run a special with the NX8 and Geissele mount. This a great fit and very popular. I have no experience with scarworks. Heard great things.

I own both Scalarworks Leap/Scope at (5.4oz) and Larue you will be fine with either. The Larue is heavier and probably more durable. The Scalarworks is a work of art as far as its machining goes. They both have very good return to zero. I don't think you can go wrong either.

I'm looking for a tall mount for my NX8, 1.93". I got a good deal on the optic, but thanks, I'll keep you in mind for next time around.

Yea I have run them all and still own the G3, about to buy another. Run them on a SR15's, Colts, BCM, SCAR17, A ZP43P and MP5.

The ATACR was the top dog until the G3 came out ( if you ignore the $4500 elephant in the room). I like the eyebox in the ATACR a little better but its not as bright as the NX8 or G3. NX8 reticles choices suck and the eyebox is too small. Makes a really good SBR optic if weight is a your top concern but I will take the weight penalty of the G3 and ATACR over both. Biggest issue with the G3 is reticle boom and shadow while illuminated but not a deal breaker. On 1X you don't notice it anyway.

G3 is an easy winner out of those 3. Shootable, good reticle, great brightness , and $1K cheaper than the ATACR.

The NX8 should be a $1K scope and the ATACR a $1800 one. NX8 should also be available with the FC-DM.

I don't run NODS but most are 1.5-1.75". Despite the bore offsight, the higher mounts are easier to shoot heads up and transitioning between targets. I have replaced most of the Badger and NF unimounts with ARC M10's over the years. Really hard to beat their ring system.
