Look over the pictures carefully and you will see what a beautiful rifle this is.
If you are a collector, this rifle is in gorgeous condition and represents the pinnacle of Garand design and manufacture. The metal is virtually flawless throughout. The stock is a brand new American Walnut stock. If you are a shooter, this rifle will do the job for you. The new stock allows the rifle to lock up beautifully for greater accuracy. The barrel is new...measuring between 0 and 0 both at the CMP and with my own gauge. The rifling is great with a sharp and shiny bore. This rifle came out of the CMP lay last year and is unshot since that time. It is the nicer Service grade (better condition than either the Rack or the Field grade rifles). The rifle was gone through completely by the capable smiths at the CMP and is now ready to be shot...virtually as good as new.
