*I had an opportunity come up yesterday evending that I don’t want to pass up on, so I am taking $200 off the barreled action. I don’t think you will find a lower price on one in this good of condition, if you do let’s talk. I NEED TO SELL AT LEAST THE B/A SO I AM MOTIVATED!
I have several other projects going right now and need to free up some cash, this rifle doesn’t get shot much so it is up for grabs. The rifle is in as new condition with only the slightest hint of coating wear starting to show on the bolt from cycling / dry fire. I always cleaned with the bore guide, Dewey rod, VFG felts, and bore tech C4. The bore has never seen a brush or any other solvent.
I personally have fired maybe 100 rounds through the rifle and it is showing excellent accuracy (as good as anything I have owned and if you follow me with any of the 6X5 thread you know I have been fortunate enough to have owned some shooters). I have yet to lot test or anything like that we have just been shooting one lot of Center X and I think a box of Eley Match. The one 6X5 I shot with it was not in ideal conditions but averaged 0.233" @ 50 yards and my 14 year old daughter shot one that averaged 0.353" @ 50 yards. We have yet to shoot it beyond 50 yards on paper only because every time we have been to the range it has been very windy (blowing targets over) so we just bang steel in those conditions. My daughter and I have both shot several 50 yards 5 round groups in the low 0.1XX" range. So it's a shooter.
Initially (first hundred rounds or so) we had some failure to fire, light firing pin strikes. After talking to Ray at Zermatt he said it was common with the Timney trigger and to shorten the cocking piece by 0.010". After doing that it has been 100%.
-Zermatt Rim X with a Keystone installed Krieger threaded barrel that is 18" long starts at a 1.200" and tapers to a 1.020" my daughters or I have fired every round through it so the round count is accurate at 500 or just under.
-Timney 2 stage trigger that has been fit to the action for proper engagement / clearance by reducing the cocking piece 0.010” as recommended by Ray at Zermatt
