I'm a huge fan of it, tried to justify a way to keep it but it's way too much scope for an AR15, and I don't need to buy another AR10 at the moment.

I have it from Nightforce that only certain models have the solid reticle. I have spoken to NF several times and told them that it needs to be solid in all models. They said they might do it if they had enough requests. Give them a call and let them know what you think.

I keep coming back and looking at this. How does the illumination work on this one? is it the kind that is either on or off and no adjustment without taking it apart or can you adjust up or down without taking it apart?
You adjust it by tapping the center of the parallax adjustment knob. The NF logo actually pushes in and that raises or lowers the illumination. If you hold the button down for like 3 or 5 seconds it changes the illumination from green to red. See the attached pics. Obviously the reticle is completely crisp in real life, phone isn't doing it justice. Red pic is with the lights on, green pic is with the lights off. The green doesn't show up nearly as bright as the red, so during daytime red is the way to go but at night I prefer the green.
