I tried the Berger Solid VLD,s 379 and 407gr in my Desert Tech HTI 375 Cheytac..... 1 in 10.5 twist.
407,s ...absolute no go....keyhole at 100yds..
379,s shot 1/2 moa @ 100yds...1moa@500yds . But at distances in excess of 1000yds seems to be unstable.
My question.... i can get a local VLD Solid bullet .."Woodleigh" these are lath turned solids 350gr suitable for 1 in 11 twist, so will work OK in my i in 10.5 twist...BUT !!! They are SOLID BRASS not copper.
I have had people tell me Solid Brass projectiles are VERY hard on barrels ???
Can anyone confirm this ?..or is there minimal risk in using these projectiles
Thanks..
