If you send stuff to Indonesia you will be fucked. The CC that you thought cleared will turn out to be stolen and and Visa/MC will back charge you everything you got paid. Please do not fall for it! I beg you do not fall for it. I called but you did not pick up. Even if you already shipped call the shipper and tell them you have been scammed and see if they can reroute it back to you.

The lesson I am sharing with you cost me $5,600 to learn.

    Hi,

I doubt the CC would be fake since the US Department of State DDTC vets the import permit, end user statement, purchase order, etc in order to get the export permit allowed for LRI to legally export and ship the rifle.
If it is going to an unknown (As in not already in the DDTC system as received controlled items previously) end user such as non licensed entity in Indo...DDTC sends an agent from US Embassy to the end users location to meet them face to face.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

Since you are so confident perhaps you would like to offer to reimburse Chad if he gets screwed on this deal?

    Hi,

Well being I export military equipment and consult to DDTC for a living....I am completely aware at what requirements and verification procedures that the DoS DDTC Department does in regards to issuing export license.

So my question to YOU is did you ship a controlled item without DDTC approval lol? So what is it that YOU shipped and got screwed on? If it was a DDTC controlled item AND you had appropriate license/approval to do so then it would be very easy for you to get your funds back.

    Edited to add:
You send me your export license information (if it was DDTC controlled item) and I will get your money back.
If your shipment was not DDTC controlled then you are comparing apple's to oranges in regards to CC abuse.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

No, the items that a sales person who worked for me at my company shipped to Indonesia were not firearms related.

I know who you are (in general) and what you do, and I have a idea of the scale you do it on. I think you will have to admit that LRI is not operating on that scale. Thousands of small business get screwed by con-men convincing people that the paperwork has all been taken care of, when that is not actually the case.

Answer me this, how is it worth it for some one to do all that paperwork for a single custom painted chassis. If chad comes back on the thread and says this is a gift that the Ambassador is going to give to their SecDef then ok perhaps it is legit. But, I know people from that part of the world and a transaction like this does not make sense to me.

Not our first rodeo buddy. I don't take credit cards out of CONUS. The check sourced from a US bank and we were paid months ago. Cleared, sealed, on with our lives.

edit- Additionally, I have a broker based here in the States who handles all the financials. I get paid from her. She gets paid (with a commission) by the client abroad. Like I said, not our first rodeo on this stuff. There's fucktards all over the world who scam people left and right. We know this. I have the advantage of experience here as I learned it a long, long, long time ago working for companies who do/did considerable business abroad.

This one here is a dealer relationship. Not a one night stand. These guys spend stupid money with us. The exportation, taxes, all that crap, it's 100% legit.

Wow, great stuff! I need another rifle like a hole in the head but I'm thinking about building one just so you can inlet it, amazing! What's up with that red buttpad, it obviously should be black?

Pads come in a variety of patterns and colors. This one in particular is supposed to resemble a leather recoi pad. Client supplied it. "Custom" by definition means what the client wants.

    Soo, that's what we did.

    Hi,

It actually is worth it because it is not as expensive as most people think.
For example that chassis probably retails for 2x what it cost here if we go on same markup scale as STI pistols in Indo compared to STI prices here.
So an individual orders the chassis with some mods from LRI.
DDTC is going to charge LRI $250 for export license since chassis falls under USML Sec 121, Category 1.
LRI charges what they charge to file export license to DDTC. It literally takes 5 minutes once you have the supporting documents such as import license, signed purchase order, end user statement, DSP83, etc etc.
IF there is no action going in the chassis from LRI then they can utilize shipping such as DHL. That cost will be about 95-115 USD plus 25 USD for DHL to file the AES.
So in the end the modified chassis from LRI is still cheaper than what that plain chassis retails for in Indo.

Sidenote: Have you contacted the US Department of Commerce and US Chamber of Commerce in Indo to recover your funds? They have entire departments dedicated for just such things.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

Oh I got that, just with the amazing camo a red buttpad? It's his money. Once again, amazing work all the way around!

I sold that business, when I retired 12 years ago, so if any funds could be recovered they would go to the current owner. At the time it happened I spent a lot of time going over potential remedies with an attorney and with my banker. While a lot of paperwork was filed at additional expense it did not lead to me recovering funds.

OK, sorry to have butter into your business.

Chad, they are all beautiful rifles. I miss the old days of these post and your full build post. As a machinest your skills have to be in the top .001% of people in the industry.

Funny you mention this as I was kind of thinking about it the other day as well. Were gonna try and do more of that again. I've got some big jobs coming through here now that the guys are pretty well spun up on, so it frees a little time to do more stuff like this again.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I think that the builds are a good way to continue to market LRI and the value of how you do things while your honest helps dispel myths in the craft. You get a lot with LRI builds and added value through modern manufacturing process plus fast turnaround.
And, I just like seeing you build shit. Skills on display combined with educating the customer.

Chad as usual great work as usual! I have had 2 barreled action done by you and Quintine. Everyone is in love with the fit and finish of the spiral fluting on the 30 nosler build you all did for me. Thanks again
